The NEW MBP late 2016 with Quad core i7-6700 CPU will score a CPU benchmark of about 12781 The MBP 2015 with Quad core i7 CPU scores a CPU benchmark of 13834 The MBP mid-2012 with Quad core i7 CPU scores a CPU benchmark of 11343 While the MBP's with dual core i5 or i7 CPU only score a CPU benchmark of about 6500 Where in the older designs you get USB-3.0, Thunderbolt, Ethernet port, SD card reader, Display port, and even a DVD burner. With the NEW 2016 MBP you only get USB-C/Thunderbolt ports The NEW MBP late-2016 15-inch also has a Quad core Intel-i7-6700 CPU. The mid-2012 is non-retina while the 2015 is retina display. These are suppose to be the most powerfull CPU MBP's apple has ever made. They still sell the 2015 NEW on eBay and Amazon. You might be able to find one refurbished. I have read that the mid-2012 or 2015 MBP with Quad core i7 CPU is the one to get. Thankyou very much for your time and advice.Īfter researching the MBP some more. Can it use 2133MHz ram like the 2016 macbook pro?), 1TB flash storage (is this the same speed flash storage as the 2016 ram, as during the announcement it was said that the SSD drive on the 2016 macbook pro is really fast), R9 M395x with 4GB COMPARED to 2016 Macbook Pro 2.7GHz i7, 1TB PCIe-based SSD, Radeon Pro 460 with 4gb?
#MACBOOK PRO RETINA MID 2015 BETTER UPGRADE#
So my question is, how much better is the 2015 Imac 4Ghz i7, 8Gb ram as standard (will upgrade to 32gb or even 64gb Third party. However, if I purchase an Imac, which I assume is a more powerful machine than the 2016 macbook pro, I'll then beable to work on a more powerful machine 90% of the time, and make do with my current macbook pro for the times I do need to work away from desk. If I buy the new macbook pro 2016, it'll make my current macbook pro redundant, as I doubt i could even sell it. I mostly work at my desk and only need to take my macbook pro with me every now and then. I've been waiting for the new Macbook Pro 15 to be announced, but now that it has, I've started thinking maybe the Imac is a better purchase for me. Obviously this wasn't as apparent when I worked on my olympus EM1 16MP files. I mostly use it for Lightroom CC and PS CC editing my Sony A7rii raw files and have found that most adjustments tends to take a second or so before it actually works. So I currently have a mid 2012 Macbook Pro 15" Retina, 2.6 GHz i7, 16GB ram, Nvidia Geforce GT 650M 1024 MB.

It's my first post here, and I'm a spec noob, so please go easy if I ask some stupid questions.
